SUMMARY:
Performs independent coding/billing audits of Lancaster General and affiliates and reports thereon.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA). Hospital coding certification (CCS) or applicable work experience and education required to obtain the CCS within two (2) years. At least five (5) years progressive experience with various inpatient and outpatient CPT and E/M coding and/or RHIA certification.
ESSENTIAL JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE:
Five (5) years experience in ICD-9 CM and CPT 4 coding. Experience with inpatient, outpatient and physician coding. Knowledge of DRG assignment and APC assignment. Hospital coding certification (CCS) or applicable work experience and education required to obtain the CCS.
