Position Overview:
Responsible for evaluation planning directing and administering occupational therapy modalities of treatment for patients referred by a licensed physician. Administers treatments and physical agents in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury disease or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. The staff therapist coordinates delegates and supervises responsibilities assigned to the COTA rehab department aides or students. Assists with performance improvement activities. Provides input in formulating budget takes appropriate action to maintain budget guidelines- specifically avoiding over time when necessary and helping to meet EDGE goals of productivity. Participates in infection control department equipment training organizational safety and fire safety programs.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of BS degree in occupational therapy from an approved school or accredited college or university. Current Kansas registration as an Occupational Therapist. Current BLS certification.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Clinical experience in hospital based program preferred but not required. Other experience dependent on which area of emphasis needed i.e. hand and arm clinic requires minimum of 6 month working with a hand therapist.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Strong written and verbal skills. Basic computer knowledge. Knowledge of physical medicine modalities anatomy and physiology.
