DESCRIPTION
Material Science Engineer Responsible for leading minor technical investigations under direction of Survivability Manager and/or assist Principle Engineer III in the area of ballistics and explosive event research and development, armoring, metallurgical science, ceramic materials, material processing, heat treating and applied programmatic research.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with solid propellant guns and high explosives and detonation devices Responsible within the areas of ballistics and explosive event research, development, armoring, event modeling, sub-structural analysis and applied programmatic research Project ownership responsibilities for minor technical projects including but not limited to organizing project path, tracking project cost, communicating, maintaining data and advising ballistic group of findings. Exercises a significant degree of leadership to minor projects and programs bearing directly on organization objectives. Preparing detailed plans, in systematic way, using established engineering methodology. Assist with the completion of projects on schedule with appropriate documentation Ensure compliance with federal and state laws
B.S. in Engineering or Material Science from an accredited university with a specialization in ceramics or metallurgy. 2-5 years experience as an engineer. Must be a US Citizen.
