Job Overview
This position will be responsible for the planning and execution of plans to implement Supply Chain procurement and deployment programs, creation and implementation of cost reduction strategies, and support of new Customer integration at the site. Provide direct project management leadership for the implementation and/or maintenance of selected strategies at the customer, site, and/or supplier levels. Represent the organization in collaborative settings with suppliers and customers for the purpose of negotiating an optimized supply chain solution.
Responsibilities
Principle Accountabilities:
1. Develop and implement cost reduction strategies utilizing preferred suppliers.
2. Provide project management support in the area of integrating new Customers to the site.
3. Understand and be able to apply the Plexus Corporate supply chain objectives, which include but are not limited to: OPDM (Optimal Procurement and Deployment Modeling), ISLM (inventory service level modeling), ROP and ROQ calculations, and demand variability modeling.
4. Research and define benchmarking information on the materials strategies of Plexus Corp. customers, suppliers, and competitors, to identify areas of potential opportunity as well as competitive advantage.
5. Develop the supply chain roadmap (supply chain processes implementation and selection of suppliers to participate in those processes) by Customer/FF/Site.
6. Develop metrics that measure the implementation of supply chain objectives by Customer/FF/Site.
7. Educate Customers and site staff in maintenance and implementation of supply chain programs.
8. Review and define contracts as they relate to supply chain processes ensuring Plexus interests are met.
9. Travel to Customers and Suppliers to support the implementation of supply chain strategies.
10. Help develop methodologies that predict and set inventory goals by Customer/FF/Site.
11. Participate in and drive lean process improvement.
12. Additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Bachelors degree in business, Operations, or Materials Management highly recommended.
- A minimum of 3 - 5 years related experience.
- Certification by APICS desirable CPIM or CIRM, MRP knowledge demonstrated.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- The employee must be self-motivated with the ability to follow through on assignments with little to no supervision.
- The employee must possess the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- The employee must possess excellent organizational and problem solving skills, process analysis, and leadership skills.
- The employee must possess proficiency in standard personal computer applications as well as manufacturing applications.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are paramount for the employee to successfully perform in this position.
