A power client in central Virginia is seeking ENTRY LEVEL Protective Relay Technicians. As part of the maintenance staff, these persons assist in the installation, calibration, adjustment and preventive maintenance on protective relays, relaying schemes, control circuits, remote terminal units ( RTUs ), power line carrier and metering equipment in substation and power plants. You will also calibrate test equipment, order repair parts, maintain equipment repair records, and assist other technicians in other electrical technician duties. This requires Electrical Technician or Instrument Technician associates degree, or equivalent military training and certification. Experience with electro-mechanical, static, digital , micro processor protective relays and relay systems, as well as test equipment like Meggers, multimeters, etc. is a plus. Excellent benefits are provided including sign-on bonus that can be used for relocation.
