Client located near Spokane, WA has an immediate need for a Control System Engineer. The primary focus of this position will be the design and specification of continuous process controls and instrumentation in an oil refinery or a chemical manufacturing facility. R&D or pilot plant engineering experience is preferred. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a leading producer.
Responsibilities:
-> Design, economic justification, engineering, construction, commissioning, training, documentation, and oversight of operation of instrumentation and control systems in the technology development environment
-> Instrumentation and control projects from bench scale experiments to scaled pilot production plants
-> Work with other departments to advance core technology
Requirements:
-> Bachelors degree in Engineering
-> 5 years experience in the design and engineering of instrumentation and control systems in an oil refinery or chemical manufacturing facility
-> R&D or pilot plant engineering experience is preferred
-> Knowledge and expertise of process instrumentation and controls to include pressure, temperature, level, and flow measurement technology
-> Familiarity with ISA (Instrument Society of America) standards
-> Experience with DCS and/or PLCs specifically programming of Yokogowa systems, Fisher Provox/Provue systems and Modicon PLCs
-> Thorough understanding of the NEC (National Electric Code)
-> Ability to perform engineering calculations to include control valve sizing calculations, relief valve capacity calculations, and flow orifice calculations
-> Computer proficiency and CAD experience
-> Project management experience
-> Leadership ability
-> 20-35% travel, 40% of work time is field related
