Well established company in the Cleveland, OH area is seeking a Space Electrical Power Engineer to develop electrical power circuit designs for use in a launch vehicle application.
Responsibilities:
-> Analyze customer requirements, power system capabilities and operating environments -> Develop documentation including schematics, board level design, reports and drawings for rugged, fault-tolerant electrical power devices -> Participate in build-up and testing of prototypes, qualification and flight units
Requirements:
-> Minimum of 3-5 years directly related experience -> Knowledge of some or all of the following: DC-DC switched mode conversion, DC-AC Inversion, low-frequency instrumentation, MOSFETs, EMI, space-rated semiconductors, radiation-tolerant design, electrical safety and packaging -> Familiarity with the design of fault-tolerant, high-reliability electrical equipment for use in aircraft and spacecraft at the circuit level -> Hands-on experienced with oscilloscopes and similar test equipment -> Excellent communication skills (written/verbal) and the ability to work independently are a must -> Knowledge of the entire life cycle of system development (system architecture development, detailed design, prototype qualification, production and acceptance testing) is desired -> NASA project experience is a plus -> BSEE or higher is preferred -> Extensive travel will be required
