A power and transmission engineering firm in San Ramon, California needs several High Voltage - 345 to 500 kv - Outdoors-Physical Substation Design Engineers with US utility or EPC experience. They need all levels of experience from 5 years to 25, with or without PE. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidates.
Responsibilities:
-> Develop one line and schematic diagrams for High Voltage ? 345 to 500 kv - Substations, and switchyard construction
-> Develop project scope, proposals, estimates, and budgets
-> Develop engineering documents, specifications, and procedures
-> Order materials, and coordinate construction activities
-> Coordinate installation and commissioning with clients, and subcontractors
-> Interact with the company clients
Requirements:
-> A BS or MS in Electrical Engineering
-> At least 5 experience working for a United States Electric Utility company and/or an United States EPC firm designing high voltage substations
-> 5-years US Base Experience in the outdoor Substation physical, switchyard, hardware, bus, connectors, PT, Line trap, HV switches, insulators, lightning arresters, etc., for outdoor HV equipment, Station Services, etc
-> Recent experience Outdoors-Physical designing, and leading a HV Substation Design team?. Preferably from an Engineering Firm perspective
-> Substation grounding design experience for outdoor substation / switchyard equipment, fence, etc..
-> Intimate familiarity with outdoor HV equipment and devices, and materials, including manufactures, vendors
-> Experience leading projects from conception thru construction
-> Experience reviewing designs of others
-> Proficiency with AutoCAD
-> Great interpersonal skills
-> Some field work

-> United States PE license is preferred and will command more salary
-> Experiences in relays, SCADA, relays, setting, fault studies, etc
-> More experience - up to 25 + years - is a plus, and will mean higher salaries
