Client located near Spokane, WA has an immediate need for an Intellectual Property Manager. The primary focus of this position will be to develop and manage the company's emerging intellectual property (IP) program. Key focal areas will include: Leading the organization in developing intellectual property that supports the business strategy. Managing the intellectual property process for cost effectiveness, timeliness, and value. Establish systems and audits to protect intellectual property within the company and with key vendors. Responsibilities:
-> Awareness training and solicitation of novel idea records -> Manage the IP review process -> Interaction with inventors and IP attorneys in the filing and prosecution of patents -> Oversee the annual budget -> Establish strong, secure systems and practices for managing the company's IP -> Participate and guide the defense of the company's IP from infringement -> Actively support challenging competitive IP positions
Requirements:
-> B.S. degree in Engineering, Chemical Engineering degree preferred -> Engineer, chemist, or scientist with experience in a continuous chemical process and/or semiconductor industry -> 5+ years relevant work experience -> Experience in management and administration of an IP process for private industry or academic technology transfer office -> New process or product development experience -> Registered patent agent is desirable -> Exposure to IP due diligence in merger and acquisition process is desirable -> Up to 25% travel, some international travel may be required -> Ability to function well in an industrial work environment
