A well-respected client located in the Central United States is currently searching for two Civil Transmission Design Engineers. These engineers will use their past experiences and knowledge to design new transmission and substation systems. These corporate positions are with a company that invests in its employees for the long run.
Responsibilities:
-> Line routing, structure design and selection, conductor evaluation, structure spotting/survey
-> Preparing and obtaining permits for transmission and substation projects
-> Preparation of construction drawings with bills of material and construction contract documents while being mindful budget estimates
-> Occasionally coordinates projects between other departments and work locations requiring day travel
-> Conducts failure investigations, reviews projects that impact existing or planned transmission facilities and develops and implements new technologies
-> Periodically meet with customers
Requirements:
-> Must have a BSCE degree from an ABET accredited school
-> A PE with 8 years of experience from a consulting firm or utility company is strongly preferred
-> Must be able to understand and use PLSCADD
-> Candidates having multiple years of tower and foundation construction experience is strongly preferred
-> You must be able to read and understand technical documents including schematics, line drawings, logic diagrams and safety materials
-> Must be able to work in a team environment and guide the team to successful conclusions
-> Must have a good understanding of National Electric Safety Code NESC
-> Must be proficient in the use of spreadsheets, word processing and database software
