Client located North outside the Kansas City, KS area has an immediate need for a Commercial Contracts Manager to ensure commercial aspects of the administration of contracts on the client's Construction Project are evaluated and their Commercial Positions are not compromised. Candidates local to the Kansas City area preferred.
Responsibilities:
-> Coordinate with inside and outside counsel and provide governance and counsel concerning issues in contract adherence throughout the contracts life for the project
-> Lead and manage commercial aspects of the client's administration of the contracts necessary for the construction projects
-> Collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, Construction, Start Up /Commissioning, Safety, Compliance, Project Controls, QA/QC, and inside and outside counsel to properly respond to claims by suppliers as required
-> Facilitate the proper development and maintenance of key project contractual documents, including impact and non impact notices and change management outlining the client's position in conflict with contractors positions
-> Counsel other Construction Project personnel in contract interpretation and administration to avoid contract changes and claims
-> Review all Change Management documents for language that does not inadvertently relinquish the client's position or obligation prior to issuance to supplier
Requirements:
-> Bachelor's degree in business or related degree, Juris Doctorate preferred
-> Five years directly related experience
-> Power Generation construction project experience preferred
