Engineering client is looking for a Sr. Substation Protection & Control Engineer (Relay Engineer) with 10-20+ years of experience performing substation protection, control and communications design for high voltage electrical substation projects. You need a BSEE or MSEE. You also need a PE license. Salary is commensurate with experience. Responsibilities:
-> Perform substation protection, control & communications engineering as part of a team to support turn-key engineering, project management, & construction efforts
-> Develop equipment specifications for protection, control, and communications equipment in the substation
-> Work with client to develop scope of work and conceptual design for new and modifications to existing substations
-> Provide leadership, guidance and instruction to less experienced staff members on the development of one & three line diagrams, schematics and wiring diagrams
-> Developing client relationships
Requirements:
-> 10+ years of experience designing protection & control systems (relays & metering) for high voltage substations
-> Perform system analyses including relay coordination, grounding, load flow, short circuit, and stability & power quality studies for high voltage substations
-> Use software applications (SKM, ETAP, ASPEN, etc...) for ground grid design, relay coordination, transformer sizing, and load flow and short circuit studies
-> Ability to prepare relay panel specifications and relay setting calculations
-> Experience with advanced high voltage substation protective relaying, carrier schemes, telecommunications, and SCADA
-> BSEE (or MSEE) and PE license
