Client located just north of Canton, GA has an immediate need for a Mechanical Engineer with 3-5 years experience developing designs in support of new and existing products. Specific experience with the design or development of merchandising and checkout equipment for grocery, convenience, and mass merchant retailers is highly preferred. Client prefers local candidates or those who are willing to relocate on their own.
Responsibilities:
-> Design, develop, and test new products
-> Product improvements and cost reductions
-> Ability to resolve product development issues
-> Create models and assemblies utilizing 3D CAD software (preferably Solid Edge)
-> Set up and conduct tests of complete units and components
-> Design evaluation focusing on improving performance, overall design, quality, and safety
-> Provide product specifications and Bills of Material
Requirements:
-> Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
-> Sheet metal design experience (metal fabrication)
-> Solid understanding of strength of materials, load path analysis, and failure mode analysis
-> Proficiency in 3D CAD, Solid Edge preferred
-> Knowledge of UL, AC/DC power and circuitry, electric motor technology, and ergonomics is a plus
