Large engineering company has an immediate need for an Senior Civil/Structural engineer to develop modifications for commercial nuclear power plants. A California PE (Civil or Structural) is highly desired. Relocation is not available but per diem will be considered for qualified candidates. Great location and potential for long term position.
Responsibilities:
-> Individual will lead projects and support/coordinate with engineers working at the nuclear facility providing engineering needs for the plant
-> Responsibilities will include the ability to provide written documentation and specifications, support backup materials, quality verifications, and operational procedures as required
-> Must be able and willing to work normal working hours along and as needed in support of on-going projects and outage schedules
Requirements:
-> Requires a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution
-> A California PE (Civil or Structural) is highly desired
-> Requires 10-15 years experience in developing modifications for commercial nuclear power plants
-> Must be experienced in developing conceptual designs, performing Civil/Structural calculations, revisions to existing calculations
-> Knowledge with computer programs such as SAP2000 and STRUDL are desirable
-> Must be knowledgeable in nuclear design control processes, including plant walkdowns
-> Experienced in preparing detailed design change packages following DCPP procedures
-> Must be experienced in preparing detailed design change packages for nuclear retro-fit projects
-> Must be able to obtain unescorted access on a commercial nuclear facility
