Established Engineering & Construction company has an immediate need for a VP of Construction to run their construction management division. This is a hands on, seller-doer management position and requires you to have 10-15 years of experience in the construction industry supporting heavy industrial construction projects. You need specific construction experience installing and erecting solid fuel fired industrial boilers. The ideal candidate will be someone that currently works in a small to medium size company that has complete profit and loss responsibilities for a construction division or a Sr. Construction Manager who is ready to move up into a VP role. You will be eligible for a bonus based on the profit of your projects as well as any change orders you initiate.
Responsibilities:
-> Plan, organize, and direct the construction function for a multi-million dollar operation specializing in solid fuel, field erected boiler systems
-> Develop and grow relationships with existing key accounts as well as develop & implement a plan to prospect new accounts and industries
-> Evaluate the effectiveness of current construction practices and standards and develop and manage the implementation of changes to improve the process
-> Management of the client relationship for all subjects relative to project execution and construction contract management
-> Insure timely and accurate performance tracking of project schedules, budgets, risks, claims, environment, safety, health, and quality control
-> Meet corporate goals and objectives with respect to division revenues and profitability
-> Complete profit and loss (P&L) responsibility
-> Travel up to 75% of the time, both domestic and international
Requirements:
-> You need a BS degree in Engineering or Construction Management
-> Construction Management experience in the field on solid fuel fired boiler construction projects
-> Apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize profitability and performance
-> You need proven experience managing construction efforts that lead to making a profit
-> You need a thorough understanding of corporate and construction industry practices, processes, and standards and their impact on project activities
-> The ideal candidate will have a proficiency in scheduling software, including Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, Bentley AutoPLANT, and Microsoft Office
