A leading manufacturing that supports the oil and gas industry has an immediate opening for a Sr. Product Engineer with steel and polyethylene valve experience for a position in East Texas. This is a great opportunity to join a solid fortune 500 company!
Responsibilities:
-> Perform duties related to the design control authority for valve products
-> Support the customer service department by providing technical reviews of non-standard and special quotations and orders
-> Review mature designs for possible enhancement of designs and reduce the overall costs of steel and polyethylene valves
-> Provide technical support to other disciplines, including working with other Plant Engineers in support of the shop, by helping resolve design or quality issues
-> Materials Engineering (iron, steel, polyethylene, plastic)
-> Develop and maintain expertise on the CAD system, including solid modeling capabilities
Requirements:
-> Bachelor?s degree in Mechanical, or Materials Engineering, or equivalent degree in a related field.
-> Must have valve experience, preferably polyethylene or plastic materials experience
-> A good working knowledge of materials engineering (steel, plastics, polyethylene)
-> Should be familiar with, ASME B16 Pipe Flange and Fitting Standards, ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, ASME B31 Piping Codes, and typical API valve standards such as API 6D and ASME B16.40
-> Knowledge of machine design, fluid dynamics and thermodynamics is required
-> 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment. Pipeline or refinery design experience would be a plus
