One of the world's largest providers of products and services to the Energy Industry has an IMMEDIATE NEED for an Electronic Design Engineer for Principal Technical Professional position, based out of their Houston, Texas facility. MUST be able to communicate fluently and clearly in English.
Responsibilities:
-> Participate in all phases of the development of downhole tools and services used in well logging and formation of evaluation -> Must be able to demonstrate in-depth theoretical and experimental understanding of analog electronics and systems requirements -> Electronics design and development involvement, from concept phase and continuing through to implementation, bench testing designs, temperature testing, test well test, field test, documentation and commercial release -> Excellent presentation and English skills are a must along with the ability to work with engineers of all disciplines and cultural origins
Requirements:
-> A minimum of a BSEE is required. A MSEE or PHD is a plus -> Must be able to perform electronic hardware and firmware designs with analog and digital circuits including SNR analysis, circuit simulation and circuit analysis, noise analysis, grounding and shielding analysis and power requirement analysis -> Demonstrate overall systems approach while designing electronic circuits, with technical specifications and technical solutions -> Design experience with thorough understanding of analog and digital circuits such as OP-amps, A/D, D/A, analog and digital filters, DSP, Microcontroller and FPGAs (Field Programmable Gate Arrays) preferably with Xilinx and Actel FPGAs is a plus -> Laboratory and experimental skills with various instruments, such as high speed digital scopes, network analyzers, and spectrum analyzers -> High temperature electronics experience desired -> Downhole tool electronics design experience is a plus -> Experience with firmware languages such as C and/or C++, and Assembly for programming Microcontrollers and DSPs -> Experience in thorough understanding of digital communication protocols, such as CAN bus, SPORT and SPI serial bus
