Growing well established company in NE metro Atlanta, GA has need for a proven Systems Engineer or Applications Engineer. Work in a team of engineers and management on highly technical projects for heavy industrial applications. Must have BS Engineering degree with preference to ME or EE. MS degree and or higher education is a plus. Annual Bonus available up to 15% of salary. Relocation assistance available. Responsibilities:
-> Need a background and experience in the design, development, and management of large software projects in relation to control systems -> Design and implementation of advanced motion control systems for custom applications -> Support of field personnel in troubleshooting problems with existing systems -> Working with design, coding, and application of motion control systems, HMI, and AC servos for automation and robotic systems -> Working with kinematics and dynamic system analysis, using MATLAB/Simulink and C/C++ programming languages -> Hands-on experience in implementation and system commissioning
Requirements:
-> Must be proficient with IEC 6-1131 programming, with particular emphasis on Structured Text (ST), Ladder Logic, Function Block (FB), Sequential Function Chart (SFC), and PLCopen motion block expertise. Experience with Siemens, Beckhoff, B&R, Momentum, or Yaskawa is acceptable, since all of these utilize the IEC language -> Designing PID algorithms for high speed closed loop control and proficient with implementing machine vision into industrial processes -> Implementation and design of robotic manipulators and cells -> Must understand analog and digital theory as applied to control systems (i/o, sensors, etc) -> An understanding of and proficiency in PC-Based systems automation -> Experience in design and implementation of distributed controls design, in particular distributed I/O and drives utilizing Ethernet IP networks, and or other ethernet industrial networks such as Modbus TCP/UDP, Profinet, Ethercat, Powerlink, etc -> Background and experience in design and implementation of automated welding and machining cells, with automated machining experience, in particular programming experience -> Need proficiency in designing modular, reusable code that adheres to the IEC 6-1131 standards
