A leading Power Engineering Firm in San Ramon, California has an immediate need for a senior High Voltage ? 69 kV to 500 kV - Substation Designer. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
-> Using AutoCAD, design new and modified high voltage substations and switching, developing specifications for equipment, and preparing bid packages including construction drawings
-> Do physical layouts, equipment clearances, general arrangements, section details, etc
-> Direct other more junior designers, schedule workloads, set priorities as needed
Requirements:
-> 5 or more years experience in High Voltage - 69 kV to 500 kV - substation construction, upgrades, and designs, working for a United States electric utility company and/or an United States EPC firm
-> Expert AutoCAD skills
-> Knowledge of NESC codes for equipment including phase-to-phase and phase-to-ground clearances, for different voltages
-> MicroStation skills are a plus
