Immediate approximate 8 month contract need on a project located near the Biloxi, MS area for a Construction Manager with practical field experience in project management or contract administration of commercial construction projects. Local candidates preferred as there is no per diem available. US Citizenship is required to be considered.
Responsibilities:
-> Coordination of all communications between the contractor and government team
-> Daily inspection and oversight of the contractor?s work in accordance with government design drawings, specifications and criteria and national, state and local codes, regulations and authorities
-> Processing and routing of RFI?s, submittals and change orders
-> Review of applications for payment and schedules
-> Conduct daily construction observations and inspections for quality assurance and compliance
-> Maintenance of project-related data hosted on website
Requirements:
-> An accredited degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering
-> A minimum 5 years of practical field experience in project management or contract administration (an additional 5 years of Construction, Architectural and/or Engineering related experience may reduce requirement of a degree)
-> Experience in vertical and horizontal construction, preferably on major federal construction projects
-> Must possess excellent communications skills, be technically competent in construction practices, and be familiar with CPM scheduling and RS Means estimating procedures
-> Must be capable of verifying that construction work has been completed in compliance with contract requirements
-> Maintain daily record files in a computer-based system, conduct meetings with contractor and government representatives and preparing minutes and lists of required actions
-> Must possess previous construction experience, demonstrate strong written /oral communication skills and be proficient with MS Office applications
