Job Location: OVERLAND PARK, KS

Client has an IMMEDIATE NEED for 5 GIS Analysts/Technicians (Level I) with 1-5 years of experience in the geospatial industry for a year long contract assignment located near Overland Park, KS. You will be involved with monitoring a system displaying acoustic pipeline sensors and will be the first line of support for energy customers. There are 5 positions to fill and you must be able to work night and day shifts. Client is looking for candidates local to the Kansas City (MO or KS) area. Hourly Rate is commensurate with Experience!!
Responsibilities:
-> Monitor performance of acoustic threat detection system, analyze results, and generate event and periodic reports for clients
-> Assist Project Managers/Coordinators and Technical Managers in planning control points, project design and set-up
-> Enters data from source materials (collects data from pipe and facilities database, interpret the data and enter data into a relational/spatial database)
-> Collate, plot, trim alignment sheets and prepare for mailing
-> Conduct basic routing of pipeline data
-> Create graphic files by means of DTM, centerline, digitizing or scanning
Requirements:
-> Ability to sit at & operate a graphics workstation for the majority of a shift (day or night as needed)
-> Ability to apply mapping skills related to GIS such as cartography and alignment sheet generation
-> 1+ years of experience in the geospatial industry
-> Ability to learn and understand application tools quickly
-> ESRI ArcGIS experience
-> Solid knowledge of spatial mapping tools
-> A solid understanding of GIS and photogrammetric processes is a PLUS
-> Stereo compilation or ortho production experience would be a PLUS
-> Bachelors Degree in Computer, Engineering or Geography
