Field Service Engineer with experience servicing and providing technical support for HVAC/Building Controls products and systems is needed for a direct hire position in Rhode Island. Must have BS in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years in HVAC field service and technical support. Must also be able to work with customers, representatives, and distributors as well as sales, marketing and engineering. This position requires 50 % treavel throughout the United States.
Responsibilities:
-> Provides technical support on all HVAC and Building Controls products and systems to customers, representatives, and distributors as well as the Sales & Marketing Departments.
-> Trains customers, representatives, distributors and employees in product selection, sizing, equipment operation and maintenance responsibilities.
-> Provides direction to Inside and Field Technical Services Technicians.
-> Provides on-site technical support, hands-on trouble shooting and repair.
-> Participates in setting and executing Continuous Improvement Initiatives for the Technical Services Department in conjunction with other business functions.
-> Assists Sales & Marketing in development of product literature and instruction sheets.
-> Travels to job sites to troubleshoot, repair, replace and modify products and equipment as well as monitor Beta tests.
-> Acts as liaison to Engineering Departments concerning field problems.
Requirements:
-> BS Mechanical Engineering, mechanical Engineering technology or Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
-> Minimum of five years experience in servicing and providing technical support for HVAC/Building Controls products and systems.
-> Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
-> Strong people and communication skills, including detailed report writing.
-> Ability to maintain and improve customer relationships through consistent delivery of excellent customer service.
-> Ability to deliver technical information to technical and non-technical people.
-> Up to 50% travel
