Applications / Product Engineer with background in Materials Science / Materials Engineering is needed to provide technical product applications support and recommendations to sales engineers and customers. You need a BS in Engineering / Technical (BSME preferred), technical background with plastics, composites and/or polymers is required, and previous sales, marketing or technical customer support experience. Direct hire position in southern New Hampshire. This position will requires travel up to 25% of the time. Salary listed for this position is a base salary only, there is also potential for a 10-15% bonus which would bring the total compensation to $77-80K.
Responsibilities:
-> Provide technical guidance on product selection and use.
-> Identify product and application development opportunities.
-> Develop and implement tactical plans for new applications, and new product introductions.
-> Monitor customer complaints and product performance , develop response and resolution.
-> Respond to immediate needs and issues with regard to quality and delivery.
-> Develop and publish training documentation and technical bulletins in response to common application questions and issues. Lead training sessions/webinars to aid in the dissemination of technical information and further technical development of DSM''s and CSR''s. Aid in development of CTQ''s for new and existing applications to improve overall customer satisfaction.
-> Provide ongoing technical support to Marketing, Sales, Customer Service and Customers.
-> Recommends the optimum products for specific applications. Solves customer application problems. Supports the sales and product/application development efforts. Develops a good working relationship with other functional groups. Contributes to market intelligence of customer and competitor activity.
Requirements:
-> BS degree in a technical discipline, preferable mechanical engineering. Client may also consider BA business administration with a demonstrated technical competency
-> 5+ years experience in a technology driven, manufacturing business
-> Relevant experience would include roles in application, product, process, or quality engineering.
-> Strong communication skills with ability to convey customer requirement to product management, R&D, process engineering, in terms that link customer in use performance with product characteristics or properties and with bias for communicating in the language of numbers.
-> Strong customer orientation / mindset / focus
-> Effective leader, team contributor and member
-> Strong listening, influencing and negotiation skills
-> Ability to effectively manage changing and conflicting priorities and resolve appropriately, no issue coping with fast changing environment
-> Demonstrated project management skills
