| |
MANAGER OF ELECTRIC GRID opportunity at a highly regarded firm in Hawaii. Includes relocation.
Very interesting high visibility position dealing with advanced grid technologies such as advanced metering, distribution automation, advanced control methods, grid communication networks, demand response, energy storage, advanced inverter technologies, and renewable energy forecasting methods to facilitate integrating renewable and distributed power supplies.
Responsibilities:
-> Leads department in the evaluation, demonstration, planning, and integration of new advanced grid technologies
-> Oversee staff of four management direct reports and overall team of 30 employees
-> Develops strategy and plans to implement advanced grid technologies to support clean energy and grid modernization
-> Collaborate across departments and lead cross-functional teams in determining needs, identifying potential advanced grid technology, and obtaining all approvals
-> Provide financial analysis including budgeting, business case development, risk management and economic valuation
-> Supervisory and administrative responsibilities for department including managing operating budget, personnel staffing, recruitment, performance management, personnel coaching, and salary administration
-> Serve as management level subject matter expert for internal and external audiences in the area of advanced grid technologies and associated programs
Requirements:
-> BS Degree in Engineering, A PLUS to have MS Engineering or MBA
-> Minimum 10 years overall experience in the electric utility industry with a solid knowledge of current and emerging advanced grid technologies and appropriate applications and solid knowledge of electric utility operations, trends and business practices
-> Minimum 5+ years experience management and supervisory experience in the regulated utility business
-> Need solid knowledge of corporate planning, budgeting, and control
-> Experience evaluating technology and developing business cases to present as part of long-term strategies
-> Experience in working with various technical groups, business markets, and government agencies on the local, state and federal level
-> A PLUS to have experience in acquiring government grants and contracts, as well as administering and completing the related projects successfully
-> Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
