Rotating Equipment Reliability Engineer needed for a downstream energy company. Provides technical expertise and leadership to ensure pumps and small turbines are maintained and repaired to provide maximum mean time between repairs and that equipment health is monitored using both preventative and predictive technologies. This is a permanent position located in the Bay City, Texas area.
Responsibilities for the Rotating Equipment Engineer:
-> Ensure all pumps and small turbines are properly maintained by ensuring PM?s are properly defined and performed at the proper intervals
-> Recommend upgrades to equipment to ensure reliable operation. Perform MOC?s as needed
-> Routinely determine, calculate, analyze and communicate rotating equipment metrics to the refinery to measure improvement and provide focus on most important issues
-> Support the refinery?s routine business, including projects, turnarounds, troubleshooting, maintenance and operating activities, with technical expertise on rotating equipment
-> Manage and communicate emerging high risk pump and small turbine issues through to resolution
-> Troubleshoot key refinery pump and small turbine bad actors and develop and implement improvement plans
-> Discover and implement new predictive maintenance technologies as they become available and cost effective
Requirements for the Rotating Equipment Engineer:
-> Bachelor''s in Mechanical Engineering
-> 10+ years applicable experience in Refining/Petrochemical Industry with Rotating equipment expertise
-> Strong knowledge in pumps and small turbines
-> Knowledgeable of vibration, infrared, oil analysis, and other predictive maintenance techniques
-> Experience in failure analysis, reliability analysis, and general refinery operations
