A world leading Chemical Manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Plant Controller to join their company. In this role you will provide financial support to the plant and region, acting as a liaison between the plant, the region, and corporate finance to guarantee compliance with and application of the standards and procedures defined by corporate finance. This opportunity is being offered on a temporary-to-hire basis on a schedule to be determined.
Responsibilities for the Controller:
-> Work in tandem with plant management to prepare the annual plant budget, plant forecasts, mid-month reports and monthly financial reporting packages which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings, based on past, present and expected operations.
-> Validate all financial and non-financial data in ERP, to control and analyze the performance against scorecard
-> Ensure reliability of cost accounting key figures and/or P/L reporting
-> Prepare periodic management reports, including analysis comments and recommendations
-> Participate as a financial expert in strategic and ad hoc projects and act as liaison with specialized financial departments
-> Provide site data and reports to the GBU Controller
Requirements for the Controller:
-> Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in financial functions in a manufacturing environment; chemical industry preferred
-> Solid understanding of accounting and skilled in financial analysis. Cost accounting, manufacturing and supply chain analysis/experience desired.
-> Excellent computer skills; SAP experience and knowledge required.
-> Self-starter who is results and improvement-oriented. Ability to take initiative, work independently or as a member of team, and report back at milestones.
-> Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting or economics. MBA Finance concentration preferred.
