Our client in Rhode Island is looking to add a New Process Development Engineer to their full time staff. This position will perform a broad range of technical duties to create and implement innovative new processes and technologies as an integral part of new product and market expansion. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a BS in Material Science, a concentration in Metallurgy is highly preferred, have 5-10 years of relevant experience and have significant experience with various alloy families.
Responsibilities for the Process Engineer:
-> ?Working within the Marketing Department, create and develop new process capabilities enabling new product solutions for a wide variety of markets.
-> ?First hand involvement and direction of process development activities within MTM?s manufacturing environment.
-> ?Communicate development progress through detailed reports and presentations
-> ?Assist MTM in developing long-term plans and objectives.
-> ?Identify areas of opportunity for future products. This includes working internally to improve existing company technology and looking externally to evaluate and implement.
-> ?Perform cost analysis for new products and identify cost reduction opportunities in new products and processes for full commercialization.
-> ?Keep current in the field of expertise and support trade organizations and groups
Requirements for the Process Engineer:
-> ?Minimum of BS in Material Science combined with previous relevant experience, concentration in Metallurgy preferred.
-> ?5+ years of new product/process development experience
-> ?A strong fundamental knowledge of materials and materials processing is necessary.
-> ?Expertise with various alloy families (ferrous, copper based, refractory, aluminum and precious metal alloys) is a plus.
-> ?Must have good communication skills
-> ?Experience using MS Office software
