Our client, a top USA Fortune 500 Company, has two openings for Powertrain or Mechanical Engineers with diesel engine or powertrain knowledge who enjoy working directly with customers to join their team! This position is an Applications Engineer to be based in Plymouth, MIwho willwork closely with North American customers to assist in developing and launching multiple powertrain turbocharger products at various stages in the product life cycle. We are searching for a Design Engineer or Product Engineer who would like to mix their technical 3D Cad experience with daily customer contact, project management and calibration, design and release engineering skills.
Responsibilities of the Role:
- Collaborate and work with cross-functional teams including Customers (major Auto Manufacturers),Product Engineering, Core Technologies, Manufacturing and Supply Base to ensure customer specifications are met.
- Resolution of Field and Warranty issues
- Customer interface and technical expert between design and development engineers and the customer product
- Participate and lead meetings.
- Lead new product introductions from concept to customer acceptance
- Identify new product opportunities for business development with customers
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar engineering degree required, MS in Mechanical Engineering preferred
- Experience with one of the following: Vehicle Packaging Space claim, engine or packaging requirements within the Automotive industry, casting, machining, powertrain, turbocharger, engine components or intake components.
- Minimum 2years experience in Mechanical design of powertrains, engines, turbochargers or turbos, or exhaust / intake systemswith Automotive or heavy-dutyvehicles.
- At least one year with heavy customer or supplierinteraction, technical sales or application engineering duties preferred.
- Experience with automotive product development, design and release and launch activities, corrective action processes and design and development processes (DFSS preferred)
