TITLE: Calibration Engineer - Engines

ENVIRONMENT: Engines

LOCATION: Dayton, OH

REPORTS TO: Engineering Manager

COMPENSATION RANGE: $100,000 to $130,000

DEGREE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

RELOCATION PACKAGE: Yes

BENEFIT PACKAGE: Yes

EXPERIENCE LEVEL: 5+ Years

LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE: 3+ Years

QUALITY EXPERIENCE: Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Kazien, or 5S or similar quality programs would be a solid plus

POSITION SUMMARY:

You will be working with an experienced engineering team developing new technologies that will strengthen the companys position as an industry leader.

The ideal calibration engineer will:
  • Develop core engine calibrations such as combustion, air/fuel delivery and exhaust emissions.
  • Evaluate and calibrate vehicle attributes such as exhaust emissions, fuel economy, NVH and drivability while meeting program requirements.
  • Develop environmental calibrations (hot, cold, altitude) while insuring that key engine attributes and compliance are maintained.
  • Develop engine testing plans to validate engine calibrations, control systems, and EPA compliance.
  • Release developmental and production level calibrations to support the companys IC engine family.

MUST HAVE:
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • Experience with engine calibration and development of internal combustion engine systems.
  • Knowledge of typical calibration tools such as Inca, CANape, or ATI.
  • Knowledge of engine dynamometers is a plus.
  • Three to five years of experience or equivalent in calibration of internal combustion engines.
  • Knowledge of engine control methods is desired.
