ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
  • Initiate plans and workflow through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and equipment maintenance in Heat Treat Department.
  • Assure attainment of business objectives and Heat Treat production schedules while assuring products are produced on time and exceed quality standards in a safe environment.
  • Day to day activities associated with heat treat including corrective actions, achieving customer specifications, adhering to quality procedures, and meeting on-time deliver expectations
  • Development of Heat Treat team through performance reviews / coaching sessions, identifying training needs, and timekeeping.
  • Work closely with lab personnel in terms of receiving feedback and advice on both routine and non-routine tested product.
  • Initiate and complete all other duties assigned by Production Manager.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTSEducation
Minimum requirement is Bachelor of Science degree or its equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering/Material Science
.

Experience
One to three years of production experience preferred or relevant experience in a related industry.
Skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Strong leadership skills independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities and excellent analytical and problem solving skills are essential. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS Five years of Heat Treat experience and/or four year degree in business or technical field Lean, SAFETY and WORKING CONDITIONSLean
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
  • Able to perform root cause and corrective analysis
  • Keep equipment and working area clean for the purpose of safety, appearance and operating efficiency.
  • Place equipment, tooling and gauging in proper location at the end of shift or completion of job task.
  • Clean up work area at the end of shift and/or during shift as required.

SAFETY AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Observe safety rules and wear required safety equipment while on the job.
  • Follow at all times what is known to be a safe practice.
  • Dirt, grease, oil and water present to some degree.
  • Noise may at times be to a high degree.
  • Work for extended periods of time in ambient temperature ranges from 0 to 120 degrees F.
  • Duties performed in a manufacturing environment with frequent exposure to outside weather elements.
  • May occasionally be required to perform duties in a confined space.
  • Some exposure to vibrating tools.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Some climbing required.
  • Capable of performing hand-wrist repetitive motions.
  • Frequent periods of bending, crouching, pushing/pulling, twisting and reaching to perform tasks.
  • Manual dexterity to use precision measuring tools.
  • Natural or corrected vision 20/20 with one eye.
  • Ability to pass a near distance acuity exam of 25 cm J1.
TOOLS & EQUIPMENT An excellent understanding of all machinery in Heat Treat department, as well as telephones, radios, personal computers and ability to drive company vehicles. Able to use Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Under general direction from the Heat Treat Manager, the Heat Treat Supervisor will execute the activities associated with planning and scheduling of equipment, production and personnel in the Heat Treat Plant. In conjunction with other departments, this position works to achieve stated safety, production and quality goals.
