Project Engineer

Job Location: Gooding, ID

Salary: 70000 - 75000

Description: Primary responsibilities: Coordinates activities and reviews between General Contractor, Engineering firm and project team. Reviews submittals and work progress and makes recommendations to project manager. Assist in the development of startup and commissioning documents and training of plant staff. Research and analyze data, such as engineering documents, design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine acceptability for project team goals. Develop scope and criteria for the design of systems, such as instruments, machines, pneumatic, mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, or heat transfer systems. Directs and coordinates installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and specifications. Evaluates field installations and recommend design modifications to align systems with project design criteria and goals. Specialize in the field of mechanical engineering, such as heat transfer, hydraulics, electro-mechanics, air-conditioning and refrigeration, machinery and mechanical equipment, steam systems, compressed air systems and their interface and support of building systems and process systems. Assemble SCC specifications and communicate to team. Maintain equipment and construction documents and plans. Manage submittal reviews from general contractor and communicate results with Project Manager. Review supply and installation of mechanical and utility systems and insure compliance with design documents and company standards. Perform as a liaison between SCC project team engineers and vendor engineers. Receive and review job progress reports form vendors and develop daily and weekly action plans with PM. Required Skills: Requires a Bachelors degree from four-year college or university, BS in Mechanical Engineering Preferred or seven to ten years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience Requires a proven record of project management and utility systems operation Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables Proficient PC skills including email, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, CAD, etc. Demonstrated ability to develop projects, lead teams, prioritize tasks, handle multiple projects, delegate assignments, define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
