Clinical Nurse Manager

Salary: 85000 - 125000
InterWest Search, Inc., has been chosen to assist a small long-term acute care hospital located in the SF Bay Area in its search for a Clinical Nurse Manager. The hospital has an excellent management team and it seeks a new partner to lead the nursing activities of the hospital.
The Clinical Nurse Manager has the overall direction and supervision of patient care activities and nursing personnel. Consults with staff, physicians, and Chief Clinical Officer on nursing problems and interpretation of hospital policies to ensure patient needs are met. Ensures adequate staffing for nursing units. Has the authority and responsibility for implementing the Standards of Nursing Practice related to all nursing care areas and functions. Acts as the administrative representative in the absence of the Chief Clinical Officer. Responsible to assist and ensure follow-through with the development of department goals, objectives, standards of care and performance, policies and procedures. The Nurse Manager participates with leaders from the management, medical staff and clinical areas in planning, promoting and conducting organization wide performance-improvement activities. Position is both managerial and clinical in nature.
The position oversees 6 Nursing Supervisors and a total staff of approximately 80 employees. Both strong management and clinical skills are necessary for a successful performance in this position.
Requirements
Bachelors degree required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Masters degree preferred. Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may substitute for education requirements. Minimum three years experience in all aspects of M/S nursing. Minimum two years supervisory/ management experience.
A current CA RN license along with current BLS and ACLS training is required. Strong RN clinical skills are mandatory.
