Manufacturing Engineer
Summary
Responsible for providing technical expertise within manufacturing.
Develops and implements cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards.
Manages configuration control and Engineering Change Notification (ECN) process.
Duties/Responsibilities
Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues associated with complex robotic systems.
Develop and improve manufacturing processes and methods focusing on quality, efficiency cost reduction.
Investigate parts design and manufacturing issues and propose and author ECN corrective actions.
Design and procure tools and equipment to enhance manufacturing quality and efficiency.
Create and implement best method manufacturing process to ensure smooth flow of products through assembly, qualification and shipping.
Develop manufacturing processes and create work instructions for new products and changes in existing products.
Provide technical expertise to supply chain management, focusing on quality, efficiency and cost reduction.
Lead the effort to identify and implement cost effective out-sourcing strategies.
Mentor junior Engineers and technicians.
Responsible for engineering document control and overall ECN process.
Maintain Item Master and Bills of Material in ERP system.
Verify manufacturing compliance and inventory disposition in accordance with approved ECNs.
Conduct Bill of Material audits.
Skills/Knowledge/Educational Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering.
Experience with 3-D CAD proficiency in Solid Works a plus.
Four - seven years experience in manufacturing engineering. Background should include experience with complex electro-mechanical systems.
Required experience implementing Lean Manufacturing principle in a high-tech, low-volume environment.
Experience in working directly with suppliers to improve quality and lower costs
Must have understanding of ERP systems.
Must have direct experience in Engineering Change Processing.
Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
