Engineering Manager
Job Location: Wheeling, WV
Salary: 70000 - 90000
SUMMARY
Responsible to direct, coordinate, plan, organize and implement engineering activities at the plant level and in conjunction with corporate directives. Must have the knowledge and experience to effectively manage stamping, tool and die programs through proper die design and die performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
XEnsures adherence to established policies and procedures to support the organizations goals and values and continuous improvement.
XDemonstrates teamwork by collaborating with others to improve overall standards of performance and service.
XEnsure smooth and efficient operation of the Engineering Department through proper management of staff and resources to achieve project timelines and departmental goals.
XEvaluates and implements lean manufacturing techniques through TQPS, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Kanban, etc.
XAssists in establishing goals and objectives designed to improve and positively impact efficiency and meet overall organizational objectives in quality, productivity, safety, 5s and cost improvements.
XAssist in developing budgets and forecasts to meet plant goals and objectives.
XIdentify departmental training and personnel development in coordination with the Human Resources Department.
XTroubleshoot dies in the production process to meet quality standards.
XCoordinate plant die programs to optimize die performance through preventative and predictive maintenance, proper storage, and effective repairs.
XCoordinate quoting activities relating to product specifications and quality standards including planning, design and development of new products, equipment, processes and methods to meet corporate and customer specifications within prescribed budgets and timelines.
XDetermine facility and equipment additions, revisions, and deletions for capital budgeting and appropriation funding, using cost justification as required.
XMaintain up-to-date drawings, records, and data on all tooling, fixturing, processes and methods utilized on all products produced
XEnsure proper workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
XWork with Management, Engineering and staff to optimize manufacturing capabilities and processes to meet plant goals.
XMonitor the process to implement and track ECNs for all changes to internal routing and cost savings related process changes.
XResponsible to implement and manage the plant cost savings program across all departments to meet plan cost reduction goals.
XWill need to exhibit good leadership communication skills V will be interacting with all levels within the organization from VPs to temporary associates.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Effectively manage, direct, coordinate and evaluate Engineering and Tool Die personnel in accordance with established policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
X.Bachelors degree and 10+ years of experience in stamping die operations
XGood understanding of Lean Manufacturing Programs.
XGood communication skills
XKnowledge of data transfer files (CAD/CAM, IGES,etc) .
XExcellent working knowledge of personal computers and software (Microsoft Office)
