Physical Therapist Staff (Outpatient)

Job Location: Shelton, CT

Salary: 55000 - 60000

Experience: 2 year experience preferred Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of physical therapy Special Qualifications: Current Physical therapy license, Must maintain CPR certification Outside Relationship: Must be able to relate professionally with patients, patients family members, facility staff and physicians. Interaction With Other Departments: All Hospital and Clinic departments Budget: Assist the Director in working within the current budget Assets Controlled: Supplies and equipment used in treating patients Employees Supervised: COTA, PTA , PT Aides Plans and administers medically prescribed physical therapy (PT) treatments for patients suffering from injuries or disease and to restore function, prevent disability and relieve pain. Consults with physicians and/or other departments about the impact of PT factors on patient heath status. Documents findings, treatments and other patient information for medical record as necessary. Bills patients according to proper procedures. Educates patient/family on appropriate care and use of various therapies and/or exercises. Serves as an information and education resource for patients, families and other members of the therapy staff. Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations. Performs related work as required. Recommends solutions to patient care problems. Maintains patient confidentiality Utilize effective communication skills (written and verbal) interacting with co-workers, other clinic employees, supervisors, and outside vendors. Promote The Clinics role in the community by greeting and interacting with all patients, families, visitors, vendors, and guests in a courteous and respectful manner. Provides support or relief for other staff as needed. Demonstrates confidentiality in all aspects to include both patient and non-patient issues. Reflect values and is sensitive to ethical and compliance principals in his/her daily activities. Promote resolution of concerns and conflict by routing through correct mechanism or resolving the situation. Able to prioritize daily functions/tasks Display a willingness to put forth effort in problem solving Other duties as assigned
