HOSPITAL
This is a mid-sized community and teaching hospital, licensed for 350+ beds. Each year they care for approximately 15,000 inpatients, treat more than 21,000 people in their outpatient medical clinics and handle more than 56,000 Emergency Department visits. In their Xpress Care facility, for non-emergent injuries and illnesses, they treat more than 540 patients per month. Their Behavioral Health Center, one of the largest in the region, logs more than 50,000 outpatient visits per year. Meanwhile, their One-Day Surgery department serves approximately 6,000 area residents annually, including adults and children.
JOB DESCRIPTION
An opening presently exists for a Medical Technologist to work on the evening shift. This is a generalist position requiring testing in all areas of the lab including blood bank and microbiology. Previous blood bank experience is a must. Previous microbiology experience is preferred but a candidate with little or no micro experience may be considered. This position reports to the Team Leader overseeing the 2nd/3rd shift. In the absence of the Team Leader the lab will be self directed. Previous knowledge of Cerner LIS is preferred. The selected candidate will train on the 1st shift for 3-6 months before starting on the 2nd shift.
REQUIREMENTS
ASCP or NCA Certified as a Medical Technologist (MT)
Bachelors of Science in Medical Technology or related field
Generalist Experience
Previous Experience Preferred but not Required New Graduates are Welcome to Apply
Shift: Evenings (3 PM 11:30 PM)
Weekend Rotation: Every 3rd Weekend
Salary: Competitive
Shift Differential: $2.50/hr + $2.53/hr weekend differential
Relocation Assistance: $2,000 (reimbursable with receipts)
Sign On Bonus: $3,000
Vacation: 3 Weeks (4 wks after 10 yrs, 5 wks after 20 yrs)
Sick Time: 12 Days
