Disaster Recovery Manager (1P)
Job Location: New britain, CT
Salary: 100000 - 120000
Overview:
The Manager, Disaster Recovery is responsible to lead and ensure that the companys enterprise Disaster Recovery plan is developed, implemented and operational and meets application resilience requirements. This individual is responsible for assessing and mitigating enterprise risks to information systems, determining disaster recovery requirements, providing cost benefit analyses to justify investment in controls to mitigate risks, recommending strategies to meet those requirements, coordinating the development of plans and the acquisition of resources, and the preparation and execution of the testing of those plans.

Required Skills and Experience
- 7+ years experience working in an information security, disaster recovery, or risk management related field.
- Proven leadership skills including: effective oral and written communication, staffing and resource utilization, performance management, issue resolution, negotiation, motivating others, forecasting and planning.
- Expertise in Disaster Recovery Planning for a large, multi-platform organization, with technical knowledge of Unix and MS Windows environments.
- Strong knowledge of current enterprise-level disaster recovery planning techniques and technologies.
- Use leadership skills to build and motivate effective cross-organizational teams that actively contribute to the Disaster Recovery program.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects on time and on budget.
- Strong administrative skills, with effectiveness in developing tasks and managing resources to achieve target dates.
- Team player with strong leadership skills and the ability to perform complex scheduling, control and planning functions with a minimal amount of supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to influence individuals, lead teams and work effectively with all levels of management.
- Effective communication, critical thinking, analytical, and decision-making skills. This includes the ability to present to senior management and to effectively communicate Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans to auditors and risk management.
- Has to have had a hands on experience with Windows and Active Directory.
Education/Certification:
- Graduation from a four-year university with a degree or major course work in computer science, telecommunications, networking, engineering or other computer-related field of study.
- Certified Business Continuity Planning (CBCP) or Masters in Business Continuity Planning (MBCP) certification preferred.
