Production Lead

Job Location: Jessup, PA
Job Duties: The Production Lead position is responsible for the following duties including, but not limited to: working directly with the Plant Management team to schedule and assign employees to ensure daily production goals are met; training the production team in proper work techniques, safety procedures, etc.; reporting problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment and/or employees in a timely manner to Plant Management; identifying and supporting continuous improvement efforts with Plant Management; and actively working as a member of the production team and performing production job activities as needed. Other special projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications: In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must: have at least 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing/production environment in a role beyond entry level; past supervisory or project management experience preferred; be able to effectively communicate with internal customers, various levels of management and employees; be strongly organized, self-motivated and goal-oriented; proven job diligence, dedication, organization, and attention to detail; have the ability to work in a fast-paced, time sensitive, team environment; have the ability to re-prioritize as needed and think on-the-fly; a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, internet skills and ability to learn new technology, programs and equipment as needed; knowledge of lean manufacturingprinciples a plus; be able to work extended hours as need to respond to fluctuations in customer demand (this can include early mornings, late evenings and some weekends); and have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position including: lifting up to 75 lbs and pushing/pulling carts up to 800 lbs multiple times throughout the day; standing and walking for up to 10 hours/day, constant use of hands and arms.RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Schedules and assigns operators and equipment
  • Coaches, and trains the Production crew
  • Enforces company and department policies
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Facilitates continuous improvements
  • Previous production/manufacturing experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to lift and carry 75 pounds
  • Must pass extensive pre-employment checks (including background check and drug test)
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills
  • Strong computer and internet skills
  • Must have a highly reliable work performance record
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles a plus
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Able to work early mornings, early evenings, and/or occasional weekend days
  • Able to push large rolling bins that can hold up to 800 pounds of product
  • Able to perform moderate lifting, repetitive motions, and stand for 8 - 10 hours per day
