Health Safety Engineer
Job Location: Montgomery, AL
A world leader in providing engineering thermoplastics materials solutions in more than 60 countries worldwide, they help redefine the way OEMs design - from concept to reality. Employing approximately 530 employees and housing manufacturing, technology product management organizations, they have an immediate opening for a hands-on Health Safety Engineer. They will develop, implement, maintain manage safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA /company requirements. Responsibilities include:
Coordinating industrial hygiene monitoring for all of facility/personnel
Analyzing PPE requirements
Act as company liaison when dealing with regulatory entities such as OSHA/EPA
Oversee safety committee/plant inspections
Develop/maintain facility plans requirements for EHS compliance
Develop safety policies
Define safe operating parameters/control limits
Reduce process variability
Design operator training processes/programs
Provide technical guidance to site/business leaders regarding compliance issues
Lead improvement efforts (operating procedures, equipment design, control limits, etc)
Desired qualifications include previous experience at a VPP Star facility meet deadlines demonstrated track record of excellent leadership, influencing ability to work across all levels/functions of an organization advanced computer skills including spreadsheets, data tracking, presentation development.
Requirements:
BS degree in Engineering or related field
5 years previous experience in related field
Minimum of 5 years operations experience in chemical manufacturing environment
Ability to work with all levels of staff
