We are seeking two engineers to work within our assembly departments with skills and experience driving the continuous improvement goals.
The ideal persons will have a four year BSIE Or BSIET degree from an accredited college or university and 2 to 5 years success in a manufacturing/assembly facility.
Job Responsibilities:
Facilitate Kaizen and process improvement activities.
Works individually or with a team to complete projects following 8 Step Process based on Toyota Production System and Six Sigma methodologies.
Provide CI support to shop floor associates, production managers, and other engineering departments.
Design, develop, and implement improved work flows. Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to create/update work instructions, visual aids, and process standards for production operations.
Plan, organize, and lead week-long Kaizen Blitz events.
Train Associates in principles of Lean Manufacturing (5S, 8 Wastes, Value added/Non-value added analysis, poka yoke), Theoretical Value Production, PFMEA, and Formal Problem Solving techniques.
Mentor and develop CI department interns (quarterly rotation).
Provide direction to CI department technicians.
Develop and maintain time study documents. Conducts Value Added Analysis (VAA).
Perform classic IE time studies and optimize labor line balance.
Identify and troubleshoot inefficient work processes. Perform process analysis, design, and refinement.
Identify opportunities, participate, and complete projects as identified by CI department annual goals.
Perform value stream mapping.
Update master projects lists. Provide summary progress reports for management review.
Champion Kaizen and Small Group programs..


1.4 yrs Engineering Degree required. Preferably IE.

2.Or 15-20 yrs of Manufacturing Experience without a Degree.


1.4 years of dedicated role of Lean / Continuous Improvement under one manufacturing company (Preferably Automotive).

2.Well versed in all Lean tools. Time Study, Line Balancing, 5S, Standard Work, VSM, Kanban. Have proven record of working with these tools.

3.Have proven record of generating Continuous Improvement ideas and experience of managing the ideas into implementation with minimum supervision.

4.Have proven record of working with large layout modification. Designing ergonomic work stations with improved parts presentation method.

5.Have proven records of leading and implementing several week long Kaizen events.

6.Have proven records of formal class room or on the floor Lean training experience.
