Allectio Medical is currently recruiting multiple Registered Nurses in Eastern Upstate New York for opportunities in Clinical Documentation Improvement. Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists are responsible for the review of inpatient medical records to assure the completion and accuracy of physician/clinical records and procedure charting. This hospital employed opportunity is a national leader in clinical documentation improvement. This is an onsite role that requires excellent communication and teamwork between Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists and providers and nurses on the floor. The goal of a CDIS is to guarantee the medical documentation reflects the severity of illness or risk of mortality while in compliance of correct coding, reimbursement and quality initiatives. The goal for this position is to make it remote after the implementation of a new software package.
Graduate of an Accredited Nursing School (BSN)
Valid Nursing License
Must be a registered nurse
CCDS/CCS certification or 5 years experience in CDI
Knowledge of healthcare regulations in including Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement, private payor reimbursement, and case management.
We are additionally looking for nurses with:
3+ years of critical care experience in a hospital environment
Case Management, Utilization Management and Quality Improvement experience
Prior experience with EPIC or other EHR Software
2+ years working for a private payor
