Job Location: Calvert City, KY

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for providing leadership and direction for the daily operation of a continuous chemical plant as well as supporting equipment and systems.
  • Manage daily operations to ensure unit performance is aligned to business objectives
  • Develop and manage yearly budget for operations cost center
  • Lead and Supervise Production Shift Supervisors
  • Review production reports and other performance data to measure Key Performance Indicators to identify areas needing improvement
  • Optimize plant performance through appropriate utilization of manpower, equipment and resources
  • Ensure the Standard Operating Procedures and Processes are being utilized to meet safety and environmental regulations, product quality specifications, and production volumes.
  • Participate and lead programs/activities (such as Kaizen and 5S) that promote a safe work environment, a culture of compliance, effective goal accomplishment, productivity & morale
  • Provide technical support, troubleshoot and resolve equipment and process issues
  • Actively support the plant safety programs via participation and leadership in PHA, MOC, incident investigations, resolution of action items and other activities to ensure safe operations and regulatory compliance
  • Prepare weekly/monthly reports detailing significant production activities and update on operating plan and objectives
  • Maintain familiarity of safe handling, regulatory compliance and emergency response for products in responsible production area
  • Maintain and enforce good housekeeping and keep the plant free from debris, spills and waste
  • Train, coach and mentor Production Shift Supervisors and Production Operators; strong participation in the selection of team members, as required
  • Work in a team environment as well as function independently
  • Accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to respond to operations needs
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering is required
  • 10 years of chemical plant experience with strong knowledge of continuous production, strong PSM knowledge
  • Minimum 3 years Operations Management/Leadership experience

DESIRABLE:
  • Solid experience in change management, process improvement and process optimization
  • Ability to lead and inspire especially during organizational changes or uncertain times
  • Function in a KPI driven organization
  • Demonstrated skills in problem solving and providing solutions
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing to all organizational levels
  • Ability to clearly communicate problems & observations with management across departments
  • Ability to develop and maintain a team-based organizational structure
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, including the ability to follow assignments through to completions and meet deadlines
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
