Our client is a publicly traded OEM with a multiple product service lines and a global presence. We are seeking an experienced Production Manager for an ISO and API certified facility (100 employees). The Plant Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the facility including budgeting, P&L, production planning and throughput management for the facility and responsibility over all aspects including: personnel, HSE output, quality, scrap, cost, customer service, supply chain, production goals and continuous improvement initiatives. The person in this role will interface with clients, engineering and sales to ensure a strong communication program ensuring consistency and integrity at all levels. This non-union facility.

The Plant Manager role is an entry point for future leadership opportunities Our client is growing both organically and through acquisition. Historically, our clients Plant Managers are in their role for anywhere from 18 months to 3 years before being pulled into a more senior role which will offer the opportunity for promotion in the region, corporately in Houston, or potential relocation to a major metropolitan area domestically or possibly an international location.

Job Description:
  • Responsible for n budget development, personnel management, project management, maintenance and operations planning.
  • Plans, directs, manages, and oversees all internal direct and indirect labor operations including the direct supervision of Manufacturing Operations Leaders and Production Managers responsible for (assembly, fabrication, paint, materials and maintenance).
  • Responsible for assessing and developing departmental goals, managing performance, designing, and implementing continuous improvement projects focused on enhancing plant operations.
  • Communicate daily with Production Managers, customers, Q.C. manager, outside salesman, safety coordinator, and purchasing agent, regarding production schedules or project updates.
  • Work with other plants to level-load production when demand is high
  • Responsible for scheduling and overseeing plant production from beginning to completion and updating the customer as needed.
  • HS degree, BS or BA preferred
  • 5 plus years of experience in metal fabrication
  • 5 plus years of plant management experience
  • Experience managing multiple product lines preferred
  • Experience in a matrixed organization preferred
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and processes preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of welding processes
