Apple is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, deliver and operate Apple’s enterprise data networks in campuses and offices across the Americas. This person’s primary responsibility will be in supporting Apple’s vibrant Culver City campus and its associated services. He/she will be expected to excel in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with expert understanding of network technologies. The successful candidate will demonstrate patience, leadership and collaboration skills in working with various Apple business units, Facilities and other IS&T organizations to deliver and maintain network solutions. He/she will need to develop clear documentation and procedures associated with designing and implementing new solutions, revamping legacy networks, and sustaining operations. This position provides the opportunity to work on multivendor networks composed of LAN, WAN, Data Center and Remote Access technologies as well as interacting with Apple’s entertainment related business units.
•Minimum of 7 years in the engineering and operations of information technologies.
•Strong knowledge of switching, routing, firewalls, VPN, WiFi.
•Strong analytical and organizational skills.
•Experience with Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, Arista and Juniper platforms.
•Experience in developing and operating network automation solutions.
•Experience working within the requirements of a change management system.
•Experience in managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
The position is located in Apple’s Culver City, CA campus and involves periodic travel to Apple’s Santa Clara Valley offices. We also provide exciting opportunities to visit and deploy networks in various field offices and acquisitions throughout North and South America.
This position requires innovation in developing efficient solutions, processes and procedures to rapidly deploy new network infrastructures. To ensure stable network services, the responsibilities also include updating legacy networks to current standards, sustaining operations, and contributing to technical documentation.
The position includes participation in an on-call (7x24) support rotation with other members of the global networking group. Effective participation demands the ability to make timely and effective decisions that are based on sound judgment and business rationale.
To successfully meet these requirements in a global network service team, the position requires a strong foundation in managing multivendor networks that contain routers, switches, firewalls, VPN servers, wireless access points and wireless controllers.
BS degree or equivalent experience
CCIE or equivalent certification
