Job Location: Lima, OH
Prepare the companys QA/QC manual and supervise all amendments and revisions.
The QA/QC Manager is the quality representative for the company and has the responsibility for the implementation and maintenance of the quality management system, including the AISC certification for steel erection. Responsible for ensuring that all quality control tasks are carried out, documenting the construction process and inspecting each stage of construction. Must also work directly with other managers to ensure that all projects meet the minimum standards of quality set forth by the company and as contractually required. Must balance quality control standards, productivity and scheduling demands.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Establish policies and procedures that ensure that customer requirements are fully understood and that the company's current capabilities are sufficient to meet all aspects of customer requirements prior to the acceptance of a contract.
Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics.
Reviews analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine department or division progress toward stated goals and objectives.
Confers with vice president and other management personnel to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions.
Serves as member of management committees on special studies.
Confers with project managers and site superintendents to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
Control and the distribution of the companys QA/QC documentation.
Monitor all QA/QC related activities on the project.
Perform all internal and external QA/QC audits on behalf of management.
Verify subcontractor QA/QC requirements are specified to vendors and contractor documentation submittals.
Attend pre-bid meetings and coordinate all project requirements with the estimating department.
Attend client QA/QC management meetings.
Preparation and control of project QA/QC system documentation prior to project commencement.
Review quality inspection personnel qualifications and training requirements.
Implement QA/QC management system at site.
Coordinate QA/QC inspections with all subcontractors and vendors; coordinate non-destructive testing.
Distribute relevant QA/QC documentation to site subcontractors.
Ensure all QA/QC control documentation is compiled and completed for as-built and closeout processes.
Complete and coordinate the approval of the site QA/QC technical submittals to the client.
Monitor the disposition of all issued nonconformance reports and undertake remedial responses.
Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the project QA/QC management system. Recommend and implement improvements when required.
Coordinate all QA/QC related issues and correspondence with the clients representatives.
Coordinate and manage all steel erection AISC certification requirements.Note: These responsibilities are not to usurp or replace current BOQ/ISO processes.
Directly supervises QA/QC personnel. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S.) from four-year college or university in a related field and ten years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Must have a familiarity with computers and a working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software, preferably with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
