Accountant
Job Location: Binghamton, NY

This position has a number of responsibilities. Evaluate, select and apply generally accepted accounting principals to standard and non-standard journal entries for income and balance sheet statements. Research, review and/or reconcile unusual entries and/or entries that do not balance. Conduct financial report analysis and/or audits. Serve as team leader for major/complex projects provide daily work direction to teams. Conduct special studies and develop or recommend accounting methods and procedures. Analyze financial reports and records, making recommendations relative to the accounting of reserves, assets and expenditures. The various projects may cut across multiple divisions and involve international business.
Candidates must have a CPA and at least 5-8 years of accounting related experience, including some public accounting. Candidates need strong interpersonal and project management skills to influence and resolve sensitive issues both inside and outside the company. They need to be able to work in a team environment and demonstrate flexibility, adaptability and dependability. They must have excellent analytical ability to modify existing procedures or techniques if required.
