Quality Engineer - Sub Assemblies

Job Location: Atlanta, GA

As the Quality Engineer you will:
  • Provide support to manufacturing for assembly and/or fabrication quality improvements and new and changed product launch.
  • Perform internal PPAP during pilot production and initial quality control activities and follow these parts for the first 30 days of production launch.
  • Provide Quality Presentations to select groups during each stage of product development.
  • Develop and implement process controls (Control Plan and SPC).
  • Support PFMEA development with statistical methods after new and changed product launches.
  • Develop and implement quality metrics to monitor internal and supplier quality performance.
  • Implement inspection dBase system for all new parts.
  • Plan and create Inspection Instructions and Audits.
  • Train Inspectors and assess their performance for improvement.
  • Supervise, coach and mentor hourly inspectors on the team, including attendance and performance review management.
  • Develop and document quality systems and standards.
  • Evaluate supplier quality related deviations, process change requests and product engineering change requests (ECR)
  • Report the internal quality status to the team and and management members.
  • Perform and lead problem solving activities (cross functional team meeting, within and after initial product launches.
  • Perform on-site process audit and internal quality systems.
  • Initiate and review corrective action plans and implementation.
  • Implement and adhere to all ISO9001 procedures and strive for simplification.
We are wanting a 4 year engineering degree with a minimum of 6 years experience in Quality Enginering.
Demonstrated application of engineering skills and problem solving techniques.
Effective planning and organizing along with strong project management skills.
Must be capable o performing in a high paced complex manufacturing environment and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Must have working knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques, 5Why's, 8D, Kaizen, etc.
