Our client, a multinational company that develops, manufactures and distributes products for commercial vehicles, has commissioned Sterling St. James, LLC to source, screen and qualify candidates for a Manufacturing Supervisorposition in their Kansas City Manufacturing location.
This is a fast paced position. You will be working in an environment that is in the early evolutionary cycle of driverless vehicles. It doesnt get any more exciting than this. Ground floor leading edge!
Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for managing capital improvement projects in Assembly & Machining in a high-volume low-mix environment
Facilitate change processes.
Support company and quality assurance activities related to corrective actions
Be part of the creation and maintenance of a safe, clean, organized, and efficient world-class manufacturing environment through company and Lean Manufacturing.
Contribute to a bridge building culture and act with 5C behavior. Engage in results driven continuous improvements.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for improvement and ability to inspire / influence teams.
Manufacturing Supervisor will have the responsibility to continually and actively participate and support development of your team and cross-functional work, adapting too organizational and process changes. You are also responsible and are expected and have authority to temporarily stop any work or processes if safety, environment or quality is at risk.
This position is not for the faint of heart. The client is looking for the person who is running towards the fire not away from it. The person who not only wants to put it out but the person who wants to know how and why it started in the first place.

Needed Experience / Skills:
Not many bullet points here just be able to perform:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering Mechanical or Manufacturing preferred
- Previous experience within the automotive business in a high volume, assembly environment.
- Project coordination and team facilitation skills
- Basic Problem-Solving & Quality skills
- Strong Communication skills are essential
- Demonstrated creative problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) that enhance communication with people at any level in the organization.
- Experience in capital justification.
- Hours will vary. Will be expected to be flexible in terms of personal schedule.
