Global Logistics Manager

Job Location: Minneapolis, MN

Experience: 10-20 years of experience

We are seeking an Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) Global Logistics Manager who will assist in positioning our global logistics operations to support the Integrated Supply Chain organization for sustained profitable growth.

This position is responsible for providing leadership strategy for integrated supply chain -- Transportation Logistics Operations for Sensing and Control.

This leader will plan, coordinate and manage all aspects of the Global Logistics Strategy.

Principal Accountabilities:

Global responsibility for transportation, warehousing, customs brokerage, freight, and other value added third-party services needed to support global S C business
Responsible for developing overall finished goods distribution strategy and working with regional and business unit leaders to implement a world-class execution and delivery system while continuing to drive continuous improvement throughout the S C business.
Lead supply chain simplification efforts by driving global strategy for material flow, warehousing locations, route optimization, and overall distribution structure, specifically as it relates to the Greenfield location in China.
Baseline business logistics programs and establish long and short-term global strategies to drive process improvement and measurable profitability.
Drive effective day-to-day global logistics operations by interfacing with business cross-functional teams such as Customer Care, Sourcing, Legal, Product Management, and Sales teams.
Deliver on continuous improvements on cost savings, internal and external on-time delivery of materials and products, implementing industry and company best practices, and leading a strategic outlook that will better serve our business and customers.
Contribute to the development of the Strategic Plan and deliver on strategic plan commitments.
Leading the development of logistics strategies to minimize the cost while meeting customer service goals.


Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in supply chain or operations management.
Minimum of 10 years in the supply chain and logistics field.
Demonstrated strong skills in change management, partnering with general management, and delivering corporate level reporting requirements.


Preferred Qualifications:

Masters degree (MBA or similar)
Lean expert qualifications desired, lean master a plus.
Deep knowledge of the transportation and third-party logistics industries including best practices and industry trends.
Adept at developing new logistics strategies which reduce cost and/or better supports the organizations business strategy.
Experienced in managing multiple sites.
Strong background in transportation sourcing (ocean, air, small parcel, truckload) and experience in developing and implementing new logistics strategies and be familiar with regulatory implications and secure supply strategies.
Proficient knowledge, understanding, and leadership for International Trade Compliance, identify, report, and resolve any trade compliance issues
Very strong ability to influence those across a diverse global organization from operations-level to executive level.
Familiarity with working with third-party freight payment agencies, logistics-related IT systems, and SAP.
Excellent interpersonal skills ability to interface effectively at all organizational levels.
Able to articulate clear vision, incorporate sense of urgency in addressing current issues.
Demonstrated Leadership skills exhibited in a large multi-functional manufacturing organization.
