Director of Genetics
Job Location: Irvine, CA
Experience: 2-5 years of experience
We are seeking top notch Scientist to work for a leading research and laboratory services firmcome work for an outstanding intl organization!
As the Director of Genetics, you will be responsible for the technical oversight of various departments to include Cytogenetic, FISH and Molecular Genetics. You will review, transcribe and report on all final cytogenetic and FISH results. You will manage departments to ensure that all studies projects are carried out in strict regulatory compliance and adherence to company internal standards and external regulatory agencies. Will work with outside pathologists, consultants and client physicians.
Additional responsibilities include:
Oversight of the Technical (assay improvement validation)
Quality Assurance / Quality Improvement (QA/QI) programs
Training / Competency and Continuing Education Programs in the respective laboratories
Oversight of internal and external (i.e. CLIA, CAP, CA and NY State) proficiency testing and inspection
Consultation for genetics send-out cases
Contribution to scientific publication
Direction of CA State CLS Training Program
Management of genetics medical staff
The qualified candidate will have:
Requires a M.D. or PhD in Genetics, Oncology or Biological Sciences.
Board Certification in Clinical Cytogenetics and Molecular Genetics by the American Board of Medical Genetics.
Two years experience in cancer cytogenetics, including molecular cytogenetics, and molecular genetics.
California Directors License in Clinical Cytogenetics and Clinical Molecular Genetics.
